Our Firm – Efficient, Practical, Effective
Formed in 1984, the Law Offices of Goria, Weber & Jarvis is a well-established and personalized Mission Valley law firm and is one of the oldest firms in San Diego. The original and founding partners of the Firm are Chuck Goria and Dan Weber. Dave Jarvis joined the Firm in 1999, and became the third partner in 2006. The Firm represents over 400 business clients in diverse industries and maintains a strong client following in the Chaldean, Lebanese-American, and Arab-American communities.
Daniel S. Weber
Dan Weber has been practicing law in San Diego for more than 35 years, advising a wide variety of business and real estate clients in their transactional matters with a strong tax perspective and extensive experience in real estate investment and management.
Mr. Weber earned his undergraduate degree from California Lutheran College (with Honors) and Juris Doctor from University of San Diego in 1978 (with Honors). Mr. Weber has served in a charitable capacity for several years with many charities and currently serves as a board member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego. He has previously served as a board member of the Martin Bayless Free Football Camp, and was the board chair for his childrens’ elementary and junior high school. Mr. Weber is licensed to practice in California, in the U.S. District Court, the Tax Court and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Charles F. Goria
Chuck Goria, specializing in real estate and business litigation, has been a licensed, practicing attorney since 1976. He has earned an AV rating from Martindale Hubbell and was recently voted one of San Diego’s 2014 Top Lawyers by San Diego Magazine.
After completing undergraduate work at the University of California, Los Angeles Mr. Goria earned his Juris Doctor at University of San Diego. Mr. Goria was published in the University of San Diego Law Review and the Insurance Counsel Quarterly, and has authored Continuing Education materials for both lawyers and real estate agents.
Mr. Goria understands not only the legal aspect of real estate but has also has been a licensed California real estate broker for over 30 years. He has served as an adjunct professor at local law schools, teaching courses in real property law, real property secured transactions, Uniform Commercial Code Sales and Commercial Paper, and Civil Procedure. He also served as a Superior Court Arbitrator and Mediator, and Small Claims Judge Pro Tem. Mr. Goria has successfully litigated a wide variety of cases, with an emphasis in real estate and business disputes.
Mr. Goria is licensed to practice in California as well as the United States District Court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal, and the U. S. Supreme Court. He is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association and the Real Estate Committee of the San Diego County Bar Association.
Dave Jarvis
Dave Jarvis applies a strong customer service-oriented approach in and helping clients find solutions that make good business and legal sense. Dave focuses on understanding, accommodating, advising, and handling the legal, business, licensing, and other needs of closely-held businesses and their owners. Dave’s years of experience handling estate planning and probate-related matters compliments and enhances the range of services he provides and sensitivity to his clients’ needs, such as real property taxes under Prop. 13.
Dave Jarvis is a native San Diegan. He went to University City High School, obtained his undergraduate degree from Whittier College, and earned his Juris Doctor at California Western School of Law. In 1998, he started working for Goria & Weber as a law clerk immediately after law school, joined the firm as an associate in 1999, and became a partner in 2007. Dave has further served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Club of Greater San Diego and has represented a number of other terrific charitable organizations such as Lions, Tigers & Bears and San Diego Soille Hebrew Day School.
Meghan DeSpain
Meghan DeSpain is an Associate at our Firm. She supports Dave and Dan in all aspects of transactional law and probate administration, and she enjoys the rigors of legal problem solving with a diverse variety of clients. Meghan earned her bachelor’s degree from University of San Diego in English with honors, and graduated from California Western School of Law in 2012. She worked for our Firm throughout law school, and became a full-time associate upon receiving her attorney’s license. Meghan is an active ambassador with SPARK Friends of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater San Diego. Meghan is licensed to practice law in California, and is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association.
